STUDENT VOLUNTEER PROGRAM (SVP) - INTAKE 1, 2026

* Open to all current law students
A R BYRNE & ASSOCIATES runs its Student Volunteer Program (SVP) each calendar year. This program is open for all law students who are currently completing a Bachelor of Laws, Juris Doctor or the LPAB's Diploma in Law to apply.
SVP Intake 1, 2026 will run on a part-time basis over a fortnight during the summer holiday period from Monday 19 January 2026 to Friday 30 January 2026. SVP Intake 1, 2026 will take place from our firm's Engadine office in the Sutherland Shire.

Week One - The SVP Participant will learn the administrative side of the firm, from filing, pagination, legal photocopying, mail clerk duties, legal research and legal management systems (LMS).

Week Two - The SVP Participant will then move onto the "legal" side of the firm, including an introduction to the Online Court, courtroom etiquette, briefing Barristers and Experts, and basic court filing.
​
NOTE - This program is not intended as a substitute for the PLT (Practical Legal Training) work experience component of the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (or similar). Applicants must have already commenced their legal studies with their respective law school or program at the time of application. Only the successful applicant will be offered placement by email on 2 January 2026. This volunteer position is non-ongoing, and all part-time agreed days and hours will take place in-person from the Engadine Office. There is no "placement from home" component to the SVP.
